My Story

Dr. Lori Wik is a rural general internist who has been practicing in her community for almost 15 years. She completed medical school and residency at the University of Alberta and is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor with the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Lori Wik is passionate about teaching residents and medical students, and about advocating for the essential role that general internists play in delivering high-quality care — particularly in rural settings where subspecialty support is limited. Her clinical work and teaching are rooted in the belief that general internal medicine is not just a fallback, but a cornerstone of effective, adaptable, and patient-centered care.

She is a mother of four and enjoys biking and spending time outdoors.
